Flist! I want your opinion! I have this idea that for one of the days of Comic-Con, I will wear a Star Trek command uniform shirt that is too big for me, no pants (by which I mean black shorts underneath or something that you can't readily see), muss up my beehive, smear my lipstick, and go as Captain Kirk's Meaningless Conquest. [livejournal.com profile] acehorner is very supportive of this idea, but methinks she's a little biased. So I'm asking you guys.

[Poll #1758936]
Internet! I have an announcement!

Genderswap fic is hard! )

Also, I do have something for you from Wincon:

An illustration I drew during the Supernatural Happyfuntime Hour re: the relationship between Kripke and fangirls. Joss Whedon also does this.
Dear gods, what the hell happened to my internet life? I miss this. I was hoping the twitposting would get me back on track, but... Damn. I'm gonna be better at this. I'm gonna post and comment like a real person, for serious.

Whiny tidbit of the day: I have a particular acquaintance. This person is often very judgmental about things they know nothing about, but usually I just ignore it because I don't like to make waves. Also this person hates glitter and rhinestones and sparkly things, and will judge you for wearing or liking them. This time the topic at hand was one I am very familiar with; I've both studied and experienced it, so I spoke up. This person dismissed me and continued to pass judgment on a situation they have not experienced and about which they are not educated or knowledgeable. And they didn't know any of the people involved. That put me at something of a loss, so I changed the subject. Then when I got home, I did my nails like this,* just for spite.

It is my "no, fuck YOU" manicure. As the Lady says, sequins are much more fun than bombs.

Also, this is kinda making me feel better:

Good night, lovies. :)

*Not my pic or nails, got it off fuckyeahnailart

'Now wait a minute,' you're thinking, 'why is [livejournal.com profile] acehorner - that intelligent, ravishing beauty - taking her afternoon tea with that clearly intoxicated, fuschia-suspendered moron?'

Well, I'll tell you: )

STAY TUNED! I'm sure we will have more pictures of our sexy, sexy adventures in the future.
WONDERFUL PHOTOGRAPHS )

ZOMG IT WAS SO AMAZING. I saw so much marvelous stuff, I saw Helen Mirren for pete's sake, but it's so overwhelming to try to post everything now. I just need to do a highlights post each day of con next year. I love Comic-COn so so so much. I think I might need to go to WonderCon too.

I have no pictures of swag yet, but there was a lot of very cool stuff this year, so those are coming! Also pics of Pride, tea, and OB to come!
Spent all last night dreaming I was captain of the Enterprise, only every time someone handed me a report to sign, it was actually a movie summary printed off of yahoo movies. They were all strangely crumpled too.
Tomorrow I am going to some kind of Scottish Festival with two very fine female coworkers of mine. I have been led to believe that there will be haggis.

Tonight will spend getting ready for the [livejournal.com profile] ontd_startrek Valentine's party post.

Go me. XD
I GOT A PACKAGE FROM MY INTERNET GIRLFRIEND!! MY HAPPINESS IS A GOLDEN POEM!

DEAL WITH MY SPARKLE TEXT, I'M OVERJOYED!!

GAH! IT WAS FULL OF LOVELY NOTES FROM HER TOO AND I'M JUST ENJOYING THIS TO A TRULY RIDICULOUS DEGREE!! *SWOONS*

p.s. THE STORY BEHIND THE SHIRT! Paramount gave away these big Vulcan salute foam fingers at Comic Con, so naturally, [livejournal.com profile] c_dub_yah and I did this. Thus: Like our song, only it's a shirt. XD

p.p.s. I was interrupted mid-video which is why there's a jump and suddenly my hair's a mess. Not that kind of interrupted, though. I was just doing some heavy-lifting. XD
Omg, I am SO PROUD OF FANDOM RIGHT NOW U GUISE.

Trek fandom is fast approaching $10,000 for Haiti, and Supernatural is coming up on $19,000 with help and publicity from Messrs. Zachary Quinto and Misha Collins respectively.

WARM FUZZEEZ. I HAS DEM. XD

ETA: All the proceeds from any merch purchased from LadyGaga.com on January 24th will go to earthquake relief. This is actually kind of awful because I get paid on the 22nd, and if ever there was a good excuse to buy a pair of Heartbeats...

STOP DOING THIS TO ME, AWESOME PEOPLE. I DON'T NEED A $100 PAIR OF EARBUDS.

ETA2: TREKKIES HIT $10,000 WHILE I WAS AGONIZING OVER THE EARBUDS.
*WAILS, NASHES TEETH, FISTS IN HAIR* )
ATLAAAAAAS! *collapses*
My alarm is set to turn on PBS radio when it goes off because if the alarm proper goes off, I will just start dreaming about construction outside my window, hammering to the rhythm of the beeps. So the other day, this is what I heard first thing upon waking.

Host: ...there's nothing really wrong with splitting an infinitive. I mean, it's not very common in English, but it's not nearly as forbidden as some people would have you believe.

Guest: Split one for me.

Host: (no hesitation) To boldy go.

Me: *draws hearts*
See my icon? Just replace "power" with "fic prompts." I don't know why, but I had this crazy epiphany while I was doing the 4 o'clock numbers yesterday at work, and now I am just replete with inspiration. One for original fic, even.

But anywhoozle! Howdy to new friends from the friending meme! And to all my friends from Wincon, ZOMG I AM SO SORRY I HAVEN'T BEEN KEEPING UP WITH YOU. I just checked my friends filters when I did the meme, and I realized never added you guys to the right filter so I haven't been seeing your updates! I almost never look at my flist unfiltered because my filters are purely organizational: I have one for individuals and one for communities. So I'm terribly sorry for appearing to ignore you! I've got you all sorted out now, so you will have lots of attention from now on!
Right so, I'm on the internets, and I have several tabs of fic from assorted fandoms open, when I realize 'Hey, I haven't checked io9 today!' So I head on over there and I open up four or so tabs of articles. I read a couple and then I get to this one, and the first line gets me totally confused about which tabs are my fic tabs and which are my article tabs. For a minute I was like, 'Pfft! This author is terrible!' And then I was like, 'Maybe it's just the flimsy set up for some very PWP stuff.' And of course that prompted me to keep reading and then I was like ':OOOOOOOh. *facepalm*'

I didn't get much sleep last night, ok?
Payday, and then a looooooooooong dinner with some of my wonderful homies, and then I come home to new SPN and Atlas updated, omg. *swoons*
I got free tickets to the Scream Awards for looking awesomely nerdy, and in celebration I treated myself to these, which I couldn't really afford, but which are also awesomely nerdy.
The instapaper app is the best thing ever. Now does anyone have any loooooooong juicy fics to rec me? Because I can read them later. XD (Speaking of long juicy fics, anyone who has even the slightest tolerance for NuTrek stuff should be reading the Atlas series by Angel Baby 1. It is delicious.)

Wow.

OMG people, I am just bursting with creativity right now. I am going to make myself a utility belt that can hold all my stuff and have detachable tassels so that I can dance @ SCA events and be fashionable w/o leaving everything in my tent or on the ground around the fire. I am also going to make the most awesome Star Trek sweater in the history of ever: it will be classy and subtle, but all the GQMFs shall know it when they see it and marvel at my knitting and Trekkie prowess. Also, I am writing like three fics right now, I finally found a pattern for the yarn Flora Pecosa and Calodaemon bought me when I performed their wedding, and I'm gonna make some awesome yoga pants. Go me.
