Life, yey!!
Jun. 3rd, 2007 02:55 pmYou know, I don't really live in an environment conducive to positive thoughts about humanity. The vast majority of the visible people in my neck of the woods drink heavily, drive SUV's or obnoxiously large trucks (when they don't require them), complain about their wives/husbands all the time, are constantly in an urgent life-or-death hurry, even when just going down to 7-11, are unceasingly screeching into their cell phones instead of conversing with their children, are carrying $800 purses, and just generally making consuming parasites of themselves. I look around at them and I think, 'Jeez, humans suck. We don't live consciously, we don't appreciate anything. Not our health, our beautiful surroundings, our safety, our right to vote, our shoes or socks or families or food. We're so unbearably blessed, and we don't even care. We're the walking catatonic.' And then
metaquotes comes along and proves me so very wrong, that I just wanna have a party and dance all night long and rejoice like no one has rejoiced since the Paleolithic Age.
Now I hate to bring it into a post like this, but re: Clusterfuck '07, I'm not giving up on livejournal. I mean it about that metaquotes post and the effect it had on me, I can't give up one of the most positive influences I have. But I'm not relaxing my guard either. Livejournal is awesome because of the people using it, not the people who own it. I have always known that. You can expect nothing but idiocy and money-grubbing from almost every company out there including 6A, and that's just a fact of life. Clusterfuck '07 did not have any effect on that. Consumers of every kind are always going to have to fight to not be fucked with, and this is one fight we won, due to the amazing communities of fandom and the internet, which, as I said, I am very attached to. So yeah.
I'm gonna go water MamaGoddess's garden.
