Awkward Moment #427
Oct. 1st, 2007 12:26 pmI hate it when one of my classes gets exams back and the professor explains that everyone did horribly except for like two people, and I'm one of the two. I would hate it a lot less if afterwards the professor would refrain then giving a lecture about how starting to study a mere two days beforehand just won't cut it in college, and how you need three sets of notes; one set taken when reading the chapter before class, one taken during class, and one taken when re-reading after class, that are then correlated into one final draft of notes with sticky tabs and color coding. And then Prof. turns to the other student who got a decent grade and says, "Would you find all this to be true, in terms of your study habits?" and the student replies, "Yes, except I also had maps, venn diagrams, algorithms, and flowcharts in my final draft of notes. Also they were scented with lavender and peppermint to ensure that the tension did not cause my sinuses to clog entirely and deprive my brain of oxygen thus hindering my concentration. I sure don't want to go through that again, golly." And during this whole thing I've just been sinking lower and lower in my seat because I haven't even bought the book for this class, and my study habits involve getting to class 20 minutes early the day of, looking up some key terms that I can't remember on wikipedia, and then knitting a few rows to get my hands warmed up.
