Oh man, I know. *has just finished YouTubing it like a gansta* And that "get some vodoo" line too. But oh, I want to make sure of something with another person who knows what I'm talking about. How is it calicokat is so awesome? I mean, really. She called like the first half of the episode in inagadda, and then there's the "something's wrong with Sammy" thing too. And did they or did they not hit as many kinks as possible with yelling!Sammy and shinyeyed!Dean, and the actual communication between them that screamed fanon to me? Whoo! Had to get that out, sorry it's all over your journal now.
Hmm... it's a fandom mystery, 'Was calicokat spoiled?'
Totally screamed fanon. Especially the ouija board part. And oh, the kink-hitting! notthequiettype and I were going on about the defibrillator bit. 'Look how far I can arch my back! When I'm lying down!'
On YouTube I rewound and rewound the beginning where Sam was yelling for Dean. I may have a thing, it's happened like this before. And then Dean trying to communicate with his brother and getting all worried and scared and almost-crying (wibble!) Someone said somewhere that Sam has all the bad stuff happening to him, but I dunno, Dean's been almost-dead and seeing Reapers twice.
I...didn't even think of the defibrillator bit. Which sounds naughty all by itself. "Want to see my defibrillator?" Um. I think I'll make my way to YouTube again. I keep looking at this picture and counting the many ways and kinds of Dean/Jensen's hotness.
Sam yelling in the beginning made me wibble so very badly. He just sounded so manly and (I hate this word, but what else is there?) raw. Yeah, Dean's spent two fairly lengthy bits of time hovering on the brink of death. I think maybe the writers are scared of what has to happen if Sam is on the brink of death, cuz Dean would go berserk and the fangirls would write so much angsty porn and gen that the whole internets might break and that'd be a huge no-no for the economy. Speaking of, do you have a link to the youtube? I can't find it, for some reason.
I always notice defibrillator moments on tv because they get it so very wrong every time. But that? They didn't even try. It was gratuitous back-arching in its purest form.
Oh, and this photo (http://www.supernatural.4fans.net/gallery/albums/userpics/10001/rodo.jpg) is hot in a weird, disturbingly-obsessed-fangirl way. Because that looks like maybe a room that you'd rent out, which makes Jensen the mysterious, sexy boarder. And that means porny boarder thoughts with lots of sexual tension in beforehand. *cackles*
Yes, I noticed! What a funny feature, el-jay. *harrumph* sasha_davidovna directed me to type in "Supernatural In My Time of Dying" at YouTube and it's worked. Sadly, that photo link is not working. ;(
Oh, Sam. He was all tore up and hurt and killer rage and yum. cupiscent in her last post pointed out how Sam is likelier to fly off the handle without Dean (also! The sudden telekenesis when he has the vision of Dean dying! Woah, I remember lots of fannish details.) I love how now, Sam was the one scolding Dad and fiercly fighting for Dean. It happened like that the last almost-death, too, and notice last time Dean was all "I am resigned to death" but here he wasn't? Yeah.
I didn't really consider what would happen if Sam were the one dying, but I think you're absolutley right. Dean would lose it. He almost lost it in...what was it, that hilbilly cage episode when they said they'd shoot Sam. Hoo boy. Comment too long. I don't want to break the internet all by myself now.
Meh! It's the other photo (http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y229/scary_lullabies/General%20Fun/rodo.jpg) from that shoot. Also, is it just me, or is Sam's hair is rilly curly (http://cwtv.com/shows/supernatural) on the official website? Also: CUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTIEPIE!! (http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y229/scary_lullabies/General%20Fun/cuitiepie.jpg)
'Faith' takes place right after 'Asylum' and 'Scarecrow,' both of which involved Sam being all "Ihatejoo!" and I think a) A big part of Dean's self-definition comes from Sam, and b) He sees things like this (http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y229/scary_lullabies/General%20Fun/yousuck.png). (Off a writer's blog, obviously. You get the gist. And I mean, we're all like that to a certain extent, but Dean for serious. I blame his being the firstborn. That's actually one of my favorite things about this show is the fairly normal family dynamic that comes up. I don't care what's going on with your family, it sucks big hairy balls to be the firstborn.) And anyways, I don't imagine he was feeling particularly valuable. (Is it me, or does his lascivious leering and alliteration pick up at times like that?) Meanwhile, this time around, things had been pretty good with Sam for a while, and I keep starting to phrase the rest of this thought only to have it come out really horribly cheesy. You know what I mean, though, yeah? This is long, I'm gonna shut up.
Ha ha ha, hmmm, well, I can take some of the mystery away from that. I started reading spoilers around when the episode 2 sides came out, not the day of, but several days later when people were still worked up over them, and after we were well into Inagadda. I didn't read spoilers for the season premire until a bit after that. (Just did Great Battle in the Alex letter writing campaign.) black_regalia remains hardcore spoiler free.
Kripke does appear to be using some of the same source material we are, as John draws the Sigil of Saturn on the floor at the end of "In My Time of Dying" (something I had no idea of when picking the Sigil of the Moon from a page or two later in the Magus). I suspect, however, that our interpretations of that material will remain somewhat different.
