MamaGoddess had the news on and I stupidly didn't immediately put on my beautiful new Zen, Vladimir to drown it out. So of course I find out that certain car companies (I heard Mazda mentioned) are creating advertising directed at children so that kids will hear the word Mazda or something while their mom is car shopping and go nuts for it and then mom will buy that one. I don't think I've ever been more ashamed to be a human in my entire life. I'll leave my yarn stash to whoever is kind enough to put me out of my misery.

Advertising...frightens me, most of the time. It's just so...gaah. I don't trust it at all. The best things I know of aren't advertised at all, I had to find them myself (LJ and Badger Balm, for example.) Advertising for children to sell their parents (on a car, on a car?!) weirds me out. Like. This is actually considered as ethical and do-able? And yet things like fanfiction or like, the statue of David are somehow considered malicious and should be hidden to protect the chilluns? O.o
