Happy Birthday
Dec. 16th, 2006 04:47 pmA year ago today, my nephew, Miles Aidan McMullen Gonzalez, was stillborn. I can't believe he would have been a year old. It seems like I was just holding him yesterday.
Over the last year, flist has been awesome,
algie has been awesome, spn fandom (we still need a name, ppl) has been awesome. I can't tell you how much it means to have an escape and to have a medium to take in such wonderful people and beautiful stories. I don't think I can communicate how grateful I am.
Lien, I suck monumentally for not calling you more and such, but I want to thank you again for how good you were to me last year. I really can't tell you enough. You're a wonderful person and a magnificent friend.
Now, I know Lien has seen pictures of Miles, but Naelor (Wifeypants in Delaware) has not, so there are links to pictures (not pictures themselves) under this cut. Don't click the links if you don't want to see him, and this might sound silly, but don't feel like you have to either. I understand.
Flora Pecosa, Calodaemon, and Miles.
One of my favorites: Calodaemon and his son.
One of the pictures the hospital took. Came out very bright.
Miles and me.
Plumie and Miles and me. (We were checking to see if his hair was curly like Calodaemon's or straight like ours. We concluded it would have been curly.)
I don't know what to say in conclusion, except thank you.

Date: 2006-12-19 12:54 am (UTC)I know, we're so lucky. We all got to hold him and love him. It's weird because we're sad and we miss him, but all the memories we have of him are so good. I know some people through my sister now who never even got to see their kids. I can't imagine how hard that is for them.
