[livejournal.com profile] modillian, your present is on its way to France! (They said it would take 12 days and I said if they can't deliver it, they should "abandon it there." I don't know if that means on your doorstep, or just floating around Paris somewhere, but anyways, keep your eyes peeled for it.) I hope you like it! I have pictures of its production, but obviously I can't show you those until you have the present itself.

Also, broken Vladimir is on his way to the mp3 doctors at Creative Labs in Oklahoma.

Oh my gosh! *bouncybouncy* I can't believe it! Eeeeeeeeee! Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuu! I've said it once and I'll say it again: you're a sweetheart and I couldn't have found a better friend to meet last summer. *spins with glee*

Hee, well, if they send the package to the right address, there should be no problem. Ohdear, I hope the shipping price wasn't evil. :O Nomatter, I'll make it up to you either way. :D

Oh, tell Vladimir to get better! Oklahoma doctors must know what they're doing, as far away as they are.

Shipping prices were quite fine. :)

I just got an image of the package sitting in a cafe, smoking a cig and drinking a coffee. Wearing a beret possibly. *laughs*

Singing the French national anthem (which it learned from other packages while going through customs), skipping around town.

So, I have been thinking a lot, and I was wondering... how long does it take you to knit stockings? Like, long period ones out of wool? Because if you have time, I was thinking that maybe you could make me some and I could sew you something that would take about the same amount of time... a bodice, maybe? Just a thought...

Ooo, that sounds awesome, my darling! Stockings wouldn't take me too terribly long. I could have them done by Potrero, certainly, if that's when I'm going to be seeing you next. (I was just about to post an entry on the 400 dollars I owe my mama. Alas, no Estrella for me. If I don't make it to 2008 Estrella, I give you permission to kidnap me and take me there and give me to a swarthy, ugly, and untrustworthy pirate.) By long do you mean over the knee, mid thigh, or top of the thigh? And do you mean with worsted (http://www.lionbrand.com/graphics/yarns/820-149b.jpg) or sock weight (http://www.lionbrand.com/graphics/yarns/770-124b.jpg) wool? I ask because, well, say you wanted over the knee worsted stockings? Those would not be worth a bodice. Maybe a chemise. Sock weight mid-thighs, those are bodice worthy, I think. Also, are these primarily to keep warm, or primarily for looks? If they are for warmth, we should totally use alpaca instead of wool, because it is softer and significantly warmer.

Potrero would work well for me! They are definitely for warmth, so alpaca would probably be best. I do not fully understand the meanings behind the pictures of the two types of yarn... I'd like mid-thigh best, I think, but take into account that I have enormous thighs... well, enormous legs in general. I'm kind of like a giraffe that way, as my legs make up more than half my considerable height.
I'm sad about Estrella, but I might not get to go either, because the sperm donor is cutting me off and I have to get a job.

Sock weight yarn is very thin, and makes socks and stockings like store bought socks, sometimes thinner depending on how it's knit. If they are for warmth, then I suggest worsted alpaca. I will need the length in inches you want them to be and the circumference of your thigh where you want them to sit. I'll put some ribbing on top, if that's ok with you. It's not exactly period, but it will mean they can stay up without garters so tight they make your feet turn purple. Also the length of your footsies in inches (not truly necessary, but if I follow a pattern and that pattern is too small in the feet, I can adjust it easy if I have that measurement).

Also, you should get a job as like, a ninja security guard. You could totally skewer the little brats in a mall.
