Ugh.

The water heater is leaking. My bedroom is in the garage and is flooded. Plumber says he might have to smash through my wall to fix it. I have two crates full of sopping wet books that need to be laid out in the sun. Not that that will help much, Plumie stepped in a puddle at 3 in the afternoon the other day, and it was frozen. We live in San Diego for gods' sake. But hey, my yarn is dry. (I keep it in a plastic crate.) Could be much worse.

OMFG, I KNOW! I had a little cry over them, but none of them got torn or had their ink run, and none of them were antique or first editions (those are also kept in a plastic crate). A little sunbath and they will be almost as good as new.

Oh noooo! I hope you're able to salvage things.

You live in SAN DIEGO? This is v. new to me. My sister lives in San Diego. You could SEE HER EVERY SINGLE DAY OF YOUR LIFE and not even know it!

So far, it looks like nothing is permanently ruined. I was upset at first, but now I'm more annoyed about the potential wall-smashing.

I do. Omg, who is your sister?! Maybe she's like, my classmate or mail carrier or something! :)

I feel so bad for your books...

I found this today while contemplating making a tudor gown... it means nothing to me, but I thought you might find it neat:

I also feel bad for my books.

Oooo! Exciting! Send any period knitting patterns or info you find my way, I have such a hard time getting my hands on period patterns, and most of the historical information I find is pretty vague.
