Cruise!

Ok, so the cruise was awesome. Well, not really the cruise, I've discovered I'm not much of a cruise person, but I kind of knew that before hand. The bellydancing and the makeup lessons and the food and the company rocked, though. Everything was perfect and wonderful. I learned a truckload of stuff and I had a good time, and you can't ask for more than that in my book. The only thing that sucked was my roommate. She turned out to be the most godawful negative bitch ever. If I had known how awesome the lessons and the other ladies were gonna be and how much she was gonna suck, I would have scrimped and saved and found a way to pay for a whole room to myself. But anyways, onto pictures! It should be noted that I will have more pictures and possibly videos after April 27th, that's when I will get the CD of everyone else's pictures. My camera kinda pooped out towards the end, so there will definitely be more on there.

This was the view of the Coronado bridge from the boat.

Leaving my beautiful city.

Spazzing out when I first got there.

First we'll do the ports we visited:

Acapulco

We hired a dude to drive us around and show us the sights. It was basically like Tijuana, only they hid the homeless people somewhere. Just a bunch of drunk white college students. But it was pretty!

View from the pier at night.

Me, up on a cliff near the bay.

My bellydance teacher Cindy, making sexy faces on the same cliff. It wasn't really foggy or polluted or anything, there was just some smudges on my camera lens.

Zihuatanejo

This was my favorite place we visited. The beach and the market were awesome. It was so hot and humid. I waded in the water for about 2 hours.

We couldn't actually dock in Zihuatanejo, so these ferries took us from the boat to land.

The bay was swarming with pelicans as tall as my hip. (p.s. That's our boat in the background.)

The first thing I saw on shore.

The flea market.

The Fat Mermaid.

Me with boat. :)

The pink apartments. I took a picture of them for my sister and [livejournal.com profile] elrondio. ;)

Pagan graffiti on cliffs. Made me smile.

This is a terrible picture because the lens cover didn't open all the way. It's a lion, a tiger, and some monkeys hitched to the back of a truck that drove through town playing disco music out of a megaphone. The circus was in town. ^-^

The church in the middle of town.

Now for the stuff on board!

I made two videos to start the showing off of the boat!

There were these gorgeous glass elevators that went down to the atrium. Note the pretty double staircase. Awesome, awesome, awesome.

There were the strange glass sculptures at the ends of every staircase. Most of them looked phallic or mammary-like. Quite amusing. ^-^

The whole ship had this vaguely Elvish-thing going on.

Beautiful fountain and staircase.

Ppls dancing.

Photo shoot in the Pharaoh's Lounge. Everybody sho pretty.

Me in the Versailles Room.

The Shanghai Piano Bar. I loved it during the day, but I went by once at night and the guy in there was singing Summer Lovin'. I ran away. (I loathe Grease.)

The Chapel!

I think that's a picture of St. Didacus. That's exciting because San Diego was named after him and there's not a lot of artwork of him floating around.

Chapel's mandala.

The King Louis Casino.

Now for other random stuff.

Like delicious sustenance. Note my 1/2Caesar-1/2normal salad. I wanted to take pictures of the fancy food in the dining room (the food pictured is from the buffet), but it was fancy enough to make me feel a little uncomfortable photographing my food.

This is what my roommate looked like when she was 20.

This is the star trek makeup Meleah put on me when we had our fantasy and body makeup lesson. And bindi practice.

And lastly, here are the towel animals they put on our bed every day:

If I left the flowers for my hair out, they'd use them in the animals.

And I think that concludes the picspam for now. Like I said, check back after the 27th, I should have tons more.

N'awww, you're so cute in your videos! I would absent myself from the internet if it were 75 cents a minute too. :o And also, to enjoy the sun and the sea. ;)

Ha! Cindy looks like a fun person to have on a cruise. And the beaches! I heart the beach. And pink apartments. What a fabulous-looking ship. I am always amazed at the extravagance they can pack into cruise ships when I see them on the Travel Channel. And quel magnifique, your costume is fabu Ara!

I can't get over the cute towel animals. Unexpected! Unexpected awesomeness! My favorites are the first one (what is it? A crab?) and the last one (wooo gymnastics.) Using your hair ornaments is a whimsical and gleeful touch too.

You look like you had a ball and what gorgeous places to spend a vacation. Glad to have you back!

Cindy is awesome. She did her lobster impression on that cuirse. Fun times.

Dude, it was so fancy I was shocked. Everything was so damn pretty and sparkly.

The towel animals were awesome. I was tempted to name them, but then I'd feel bad taking them apart to use the towels. The first one was a frog. We spent like 20 minutes trying to figure out what the fifth one was. We came up with several possibilities.

I did indeed have a ball, and I am so glad to be home. I missed everybody.

These pictures are lovely! I especially like the videos -- you're so cute! *squishes* And the towel animals are so unique and inventive! I want to learn how to do that now, hahah.

The ship looks absolutely beautiful, and it does have a certain Elvish element to it, you're right. I love your costume as well. Tres chic, darling.

Lovely to have you back among us though! ^_^

I am squished! They sold a book on how to make the towel animals but it cost like 50 dollars, and I bet I could find some pirated instructions on the internets somewhere. They were way cute. ^-^
