Come look @ me!

[livejournal.com profile] scary_lullabies

I decided I wanted something darker and more winter-ish. I'm not the biggest Evanescence fan in the world, but I loved that picture of Amy Lee. I'm not completely satisfied with it, I'm gonna keep tweaking it over the next couple days. For the life of me, I can't figure out why I can't see the little user chibi. I keep double checking everything and it should be fine. Any ideas?

Bonus points and extra smooches if you recognize the words in the header. ^-^

Ooh, that looks beautiful!! I don't know why the little LJ dude isn't showing up, though. Maybe it has something to do with the new font you're using? *wonders*

As for the words, I'm going out on a limb and saying Neil Gaiman. I know he's written a story about the months sitting around a fire and telling stories (and hey, I figure any author that has scents made for his stories on BPAL is one that you must know and love. ^__^)

It is Neil Gaiman! I knew you'd get it. I almost said 'Anyone except [livejournal.com profile] xtinethepirate who can recognize...' But then I decided you deserved extra smooches anyway. *SMOOCH SMOOCH SMOOCH SMOOCH SMOOCH SMOOCH SMOOCH SMOOCH SMOOCH*

*GLEEEEEEEEEEE* *IZ SMOOCHED* I almost changed my mind about the Gaiman, you know? Because Donne wrote some poems that had the same mystical feel to them ("Song" is quoted at the beginning of Stardust, sctually.) But I KNEW that it had to be the Gaiman. Because we luff hims. *eee*

*SMOOOOOOOOOOOOCHEEES*

Wait. I retract my former statement. Is this from Donne's "Song" ??? *looks it up* No. It's not. Sounds like it though. Huh.

Ok, sticking with Gaiman. I KNOW I have read this before somewhere....

AHA!!!!!!! *went and flipped through table of contents of Gaiman anthologies* INSTRUCTIONS, by Neil Gaiman. YAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!

*will stop spamming now*

Hmmmm, nope! I am lame and don't know what the quotes are in your header. The new layout sure is purty, though!

Heee. Well. The first time I heard Evanescence, I went bonkers (I was...sixteen? Seventeen? Ages ago, oh my.) I was waaay into Linkin Park at the time and had been wondering how awesome that type of music would be with a female singer. Now I am...ambivalent about both artists. The instrumental songs by Linkin Park is always interesting, I think.

It's from Instructions (http://www.endicott-studio.com/cofhs/cofinstr.html) by Neil Gaiman. I worship that man.

I still like 'Bring Me To Life,' but yeah, I don't really have any strong feelings about their stuff now. Amy Lee does have quite a set of pipes, though. And sometimes I love her clothes. :)

Yeah! When I worked for Planned Parenthood, we did our sexual harassment education piece to 'Cure For The Itch.' We had everybody record catcalls and lewd things, and then layered it over the song.
