Hallo Internets!
Dec. 29th, 2007 04:06 pmOmg, it feels like I haven't posted in forever. *clings to flist*
I think my little absence is best explained with pictures.

First off, Christmas happened. Due to lack of posts, I'm assuming that none of my Christmas packages made it to anyone on time. I promise they're coming though! My Christmas was awesome because I was with my family and because Christmas is always awesome, although I have to say, it was kinda weak when compared with our past Christmases. This is largely due to:

Too much work. Not just for me, but for my mom. See's damn near worked her to death this year. And I had nothing and more nothing all December, and then suddenly 12 days of work in two weeks.

Then of course, Papa came to town. The first thing he did was stop on the way home from the airport to meet Abbie. I was kinda bummed because I was at work when he got in (see above) and I wanted to be there when he met her. He leaves on the 3rd, and I really wish that he didn't have to. I feel like I've hardly gotten any time with him.

And speaking of Abbie, I've been spending all the rest of my spare time knitting for her. All the seed stitch in Debbie Bliss books, what's with that?
And also in the knitting department:

A Ravelry. I has one. I swore I wasn't going to put my name on the beta list, and that I was going to wait until it was all finished and ready for the public, but it wasn't ready and it wasn't ready, and it looked so pretty and I broke down and signed up and they gave me one. It is the most violently addicting thing since cat macros. Seriously. The End.
So these are the things that have conspired to make my life ElJay-free this last week or so. Oh! and before I forget to announce this:

Dibs. I calld dem. So who wants Colin Firth, and who wants Papa Winchester? I'll bring them to Wincon next year or something. Though if you ask me, Colin Firth has kind of a doofey look on his face.

Date: 2007-12-30 08:31 am (UTC)Please bring Papa Winchester to Wincon next year. It would be a great addition for karaoke night. Can I sit next to him on the train :)

Date: 2008-01-01 06:17 am (UTC)He's not full-sized! He's only like 3 1/2 feet tall! If he were life-sized, we could have some really fun times breaking into other people's rooms at night and just standing him up in the corner so they'd see him out the corner of their eyes and freak out. Or we could put him in bed somebody! As it is, I'll probably just give him away as a present.

If you happen to have some spare time, I wouldn't mind swinging by and passing along your gift.
Also, I was curious to see if there was the possibility of you making an icon that reads "*Sobs* It's genius, purest genius! Did I mention it was genius?".

Date: 2008-01-01 06:22 am (UTC)Nope nope, still obeying the laws of gravity here.
I have your present all ready to go as well. I have Wednesday off, and after that, I don't know. I shouldn't be working too much as business always dive-bombs after Christmas.
I would be delighted! It is truly genius!
And as for journal customization, I use

Date: 2007-12-30 05:43 pm (UTC)Cool, knitting blog. Do I spy a Mr. Peen up there? XD
Ohgosh, the movie looks like a zany romance book gone crackier. It'd be even better if she DID fall for Daddy Winchester. "Uma, duck! We've got shrapnel to avoid and an exorcism to perform, let's go! (How's your grasp of Sumerian myths? Thanks for the second date by the way.)"

Date: 2008-01-01 06:32 am (UTC)It's an awesome website. I posted Mr. Peen right away, and he's been favored 5 times and viewed 62 times!
A fun game is replacing an actor's character with characters they've played in other shows/movies. Indiana Jones in Witness! Max the genetically engineered soldier in Good Luck Chuck! 2004 Guinevere in Pride and Prejudice!
