Zoe Washburne has ruined me for other female heroes.

I can see how that would very easily happen. I'm inclined to agree.

It's just... every time I see a woman with a gun, I can't help but expect Zoe levels of righteous badassery. And I'm always disappointed. *heavy sigh*

Same here. And I find myself disappointed by female characters who weren't even supposed to be heroes too, for the sheer amount of helplessness they display.

Case in point: The Princess Bride. There's a sword lying within arm's reach, you are in no way incapacitated or even out of breath, your boyfriend's arm is being chewed off by a Rodent of Unusual Size, and you do... nothing.

You don't reach for the sword, you don't look for a big stick or rock, you don't run away to at least save yourself. Not even yelling "Let him go, you mean Rodent of Unusual Size!"

No, nothing.

See, I always interpreted that scene as being somewhat satirical. Because she doesn't even like, have an alarmed expression or anything. She just stands there. But I guess I could be just attempting to justify my love of that movie. XD

But yes, damn you, Zoe Washburne for raising our expectations!
