Genderswap fic is hard!
I am desperately trying to fill this prompt on the XI kink meme, but it is being so difficult! First off: names! I took a poll on![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
kirkspock to see if people generally preferred original names or feminized names for genderswap fic, because I couldn't decide. People overwhelmingly preferred original names, and after some thought I concluded that so did I. But I'm having trouble keeping my own inevitable chauvinism out of things. I keep wanting people to call girl!Kirk "Jimmy," which is diminutive a nickname, and not something a badass GQ motherfucking captain would ever appreciate.
Also, Spock is giving me problems. See, this fic has kind of gotten away from me and become an 8,000-word (so far, we're not even to the porn yet) treatise on sexual harassment. Spock, for his part, is disrespecting girl!Kirk like he never would dude!Kirk, and for her own good, which makes me want to kill myself. She's putting up with stuff she shouldn't and Spock is interfering on her behalf, but she told him not to! But I can't figure out how else to move the story forward and get to the porn! GAAAH! *tears out hair*
