I just realized I have said nothing about Katrina. On the internets, I mean. So I think I speak for Wifeypants and myself when I say that it is a tragedy, and our hearts go out to all y'all. The thing is, I don't get nearly as upset over things like this than I do when large groups of ppl are put into the same situation as the ppl in New Orleans right now, only they are put there by another human and/or collective human stupidity. A natural distaster is just the price we pay for living on Earth. It is often a heavy and sucky tragic price, but at least it's not deliberate. Also: gov't response? I've gotten to the point where I expect virtually nothing from our gov't. We can conduct horrific scientific experiments on our gov't, and I doubt we'd get any response. At all. I'm almost ready to start the autopsy on our gov't.
