Comment with a memory you treasure. Tell me why it's important to you. Post this on your blog with that memory under a cut.
BACKSTORY IN BRACKETS: [I live in East County, San Diego. East County is not a part of California. It does not exhist in this century either. It is a tiny piece of Alabama 1951 that someone cut out and pastede onto SoCal 2005. Also, I went to a charter high school with a total of apprx. 115 students.]
I knew/know this guy from high school, we called him OhNick(pleasenotsoquick), after the song. Very high IQ, taught himself to play classical music when he was like 4. Awesome, aweome guy. Very hot and secksie, too. One day after I'd known him for about two years (10th or 11th grade), we were in the media center talking about something, and he looked around over his shoulders for a bit, and then leaned forward and whispered to me that he was an atheist. I nodded and hummed, which was and still is my way of saying, "I'm cool and I'll keep it secret, cuz us Heretics are brothers and sisters." He seemed satisfied with that response and leaned back.
I value this memory because we are all brothers and sisters. I happen to be devoutly religious, just not a textbook Christian, and I couldn't have let my beliefs become evident in any situation where anyone from that school would have seen, and neither could he. Also, he is a secksie intelligent music-making man, and he told me a sort-of-secret of his. It made me feel good. Like I was a still body of water he had dropped a stone in. I apologize for my emo poeticism, but I really can't think of any other way to describe the feeling with any accuracy.
